Rhoda Frances Strauss, 73, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Friday, October 27, 2023, at WVU Medicine - Barnesville Hospital Emergency Room. She was born on December 18, 1949, in Flushing, Ohio to the late Fred and Helen (Groves) Saunders. Fran was devoted and dedicated in helping at her church at Centerville Christian Church. She loved helping others. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and a great friend to all. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Strauss on February 20, 2008; a son, William E. Ivey, Jr. on October 2, 2020; siblings, William Saunders. Fran is survived by her son, Jason (Amber) Ivey of Jacobsburg; three grandchildren, Cody Ivey of Barnesville, Ashley (Shawn) Nichols of Canton, and Izabella Ivey of Jacobsburg; four great-grandchildren, Shawn Nichols Jr, Elsa Nichols, Bentley Nichols, and McKenzie Nichols; siblings, Henry Saunders, Sharon Clark, Carolyn Thomas, and Frank Saunders; several nieces & nephews; and special friend, John. A graveside service will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 10am at Union Cemetery in Morristown, Ohio with Pastor Don Eberhart officiating.
