June 2, 1950 – January 28, 2025
Ray L. Ryman, 74, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, surrounded by his family at Genesis Healthcare System in Zanesville. He was born on June 2, 1950, in Canton, Ohio to the late Ray A. and Eileen C. (Willison) Ryman. Ray was a graduate of GlenWood High School and then went on to graduate Ohio Northern University with a Bachelors in Pharmacy. Ray has been a Practicing Pharmacist for 50 years; co-owning Ryman & Terrett Pharmacy in Barnesville for many years and most recently worked for Genesis Healthcare Systems as a Pharmacist for 20 years. Ray was a member and Elder of the Barnesville First Christian Church. He had a strong faith in God, sharing the word with all which led him to be a part of countless mission trips; he loved his trip to Jamaica and Washington State. He was a camp counselor at Elk Horn Valley. Ray was licensed as an Amateur Radio Operator at 12 years old and was a collector of radios. Above all, Ray was a dad; Ray was a dad when and to who he didn't have to be. He took children in to be his own and was a father figure to those that needed. Ray is survived by his wife of 41 years, Machelle (Stukey) Ryman, whom he married on July 30, 1983; six children, Bill (Sara) Ryman of Colstrip, Montana, Rachael (Corey) Giesey of Morehead City, North Carolina, Kraig Wells of Barnesville, Lindsey (Josh) Marrone of Marietta, Luke Wells of Columbus, and Celeste Ryman of Barnesville; grandchildren, Mariah Ryman, Collin Wilson, Paige Wells, Erika Ryman, Ben Ryman, Tyler Giesey, Ethan Wilson, Owen Giesey, Ashley Strand, Alex Strand, Keegan Wells, Nora Wilson, and Natalie Marrone; sisters, Patricia (Chuck) McKelley of Texas and Mariann Tenaglia of Florida; and mother and father-in-law, Don and Carol Stukey.
