Penny Lee Bates, 51, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Ohio State University Medical Center. She was born on May 25, 1963 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Thomas and Freda (Bishop) Gilmore.

Penny was a member of the Barnesville VFW, American Legion Auxillary, and the Eagles Ladies Auxillary.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother - Larry Gilmore.

She is survived by her husband - Donald Lee Bates of Barnesville; a daughter - Erin (Chris) Wilkinson of England; 3 brothers - Richard Gilmore of South Carolina, Russell (Kim) Gilmore of Kentucky, and Monty Gilmore of South Carolina; 2 grandchildren - Elizabeth and Charlotte.

According to the families wishes, there will be no services held. Arrangements entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
