Pearl K. (Gallagher) Reischman, 97, of Barnesville, Ohio received her heaven bound invitation on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at the Walton Home. She was born in Elden, Ohio, Guernsey County, December 28, 1919 to George W. and Sallie O. (Goodhart) Gallagher.

In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Walter Reischman, whom she married on May 28, 1940; sister, Mary Starr, and her husband, Everett; brothers, Wilfrid Gallagher and Joseph and his wife, Eunice (Hunkler) Gallagher; stepmother, Emma (Ulrich) Gallagher; brother-in-law, Paul Brown and Thomas Terry; sister-in-law, Aldretta Mengon; and nephew, Wilfrid Gallagher, Jr.

Pearl is survived by two sons, C. Richard (Joan) Reischman of St. Clairsville, OH and P. Thomas (Rita) Reischman of Lambertville, NJ; three grandchildren, Garrick (Alyssa Martinek) Reischman of Columbus, OH, Ryan (Casey Clark) Reischman of Johnstown, OH and Catherine Reischman of Lambertville, NJ; four great-grandchildren, Paige Aldrich and Piper Reischman of Columbus, OH and Haleigh and Hayden Reischman of Newark and Johnstown, OH; sisters: Leola Brown of Newark, OH and Martha Terry of Reynoldsburg, OH; brother, Gerard (Barbara) Gallagher of Lore City, OH; special niece, Alice Rush of Quaker City, OH; sister-in-law, Martha Reischman Kerns of Peoria, AZ; brother-in-law, Harold (Nancy) Reischman of Akron, OH; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Pearl devoted herself to raising her family as well as volunteering endlessly for may community groups.  She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  Besides that, she was an excellent cook.  One of her specialties was her pulled mints that she made for many area families on special occasions.  She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed knitting.  She was a devout Catholic and recited the rosary daily.  Pearl will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was an active member of the Church of the Assumption in Barnesville, the Catholic Women's Club, Cedar Twig, life member of the Jr. Women's Club, a Barnesville Hospital volunteer for fifty years, Hospital Auxiliary President and board member from 1970-1974 and Historian of the Auxiliary; a life member of the Belmont and Guernsey County Genealogical Society and a charter member of both.  Pearl documented her family to be among the first to settle in Ohio.

Family and friends will be received at the Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio on Sunday, January 22, 2017 from 3-7 PM. A vigil service will be held on Sunday at 6:45 PM where Recitation of the Rosary will follow. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Church of the Assumption, 306 West Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio on Monday, January 23, 2017 at 10 AM with Father Dave Cornett officiating. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery in Temperanceville, Ohio.
