Olive Elizabeth Carrel, 86, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021, at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehab. She was born on December 6, 1934, in Flushing, Ohio to the late Thomas J. and Esther Leora (Shuman) Garret. Olive was a retired nurses aide for several years at Bell Nursing Home. Sitting on the porch was one of her favorite past times, she always loved having company. She enjoyed doing puzzle books and was a devoted grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Carrel; daughter, Crystal Cork; two grandchildren, James "Jake" Kimble and Brandon Smith; five sisters; and one brother. Olive is survived by her children, Catherine (George) Kirkland, Roseann (Dana McGraw) Carrel, James (Trina) Carrel, and Bonnie (Bob) Hannahs; five grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, James Garret; and sisters, Edna Barr, Mary Whitacre, Josephine Warner; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 from 4-7pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio and Thursday, October 21, 2021 from 10 until the time of the service at 11:00am. Burial will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery in Flushing.
