Myron H. Ackerman, 86, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Emerald Pointe Health and Rehab Center. He was born on November 29, 1927 in Somerton, Ohio to the late Samuel H. and Josephine May (Hagan) Ackerman.

Myron was a Army Veteran of WW II. He was retired from Barnesville Schools as a transportation supervisor and from R&R Trucking as a mechanic. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville and American Legion Post 168.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife - Gladys (Stephens) Ackerman.

Mr. Ackerman is survived by a son - Stephen (Mary) Ackerman of Clinton, MI; 2 grandchildren - Meredith (Jason) Mallory of Milford, MI and Mychael (Travis) Stebelton of Dexter, MI; a great-grandson - Griffin Mallory; 2 brothers - Keith Ackerman of Somerton and Kenneth Ackerman of Oshkosh, WI; and a sister- Wilda Rector of Phoenix, AZ.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2014 from 6-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where service will be held on Sunday, October 5, 2014 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Ted Buehl officiating. Military Honors will be conducted Saturday at 5:45 PM by VFW Belmont County Honor Guard at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Somerton Southern Cemetery.
