Mildred Faye Gallagher Carpenter Lynn Morrison, 86, of Abingdon, VA ( where she resided with her daughter Carol for the last year)died in Abingdon Thursday, 05/17/2012. She was born 05/09/1926 in Barnesville, OH daughter of the late George F. and Vergie Spencer Gallagher where she resided for 85 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church where she was a member of the CWF and was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was also a former member of OES #201. She was preceded by 3 husbands - John V. Carpenter, Joseph S. Lynn and Lawrence Earl Morrison; 4 brothers - Orville, Lester, George and Jimmie Gallagher; and 4 sisters - Letha Gallagher, Bernice Smith, Hildred Main and Anna Eschbaugh. Surviving are 4 children - Jackie (Gene) Lohman of Abingdon, Carol (Ron) Mink of Abingdon, Karen (Jim) Murphy of Groveport, OH and Joe Lynn II of Barnesville; 2 stepsons - Charles (Mary) Morrison of Barnesville and Bruce (Judy) Morrison of Los Fresnos, TX; sister - Anita Lucas of Barnesville; 7 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and 2 great great grandchildren. Visitation Saturday 05/19/2012 from 1 PM until time of the service at 2 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N Chestnut St, Barnesville, OH. Burial immediately following the service in Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville.
