Michael J. Pitzer, 73, of Barnesville, Ohio died Tuesday, February 28, 2012 at his home. He was born November 18, 1938 in Moundsville, West Virginia to the late Earl C. and Ann (Babich) Pitzer. Mr. Pitzer made a career in the Marines where he received the Bronze Star and Purple Heart during the Vietnam Conflict. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife - Jan Pitzer. Surviving are sister - Sharon (Bob) Riggenbach of Proctor, West Virginia; friend - Jean Matz; nieces & nephews; and cousins. Visitation will be Saturday, March 3, 2012 from 5 until the time of the service at 7 PM with Pastor Rodney West officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio . Burial will be at Riverview Cemetery in Moundsville, West Virginia.
