Mary C. Thornberry, 74, of Barnesville passed away on Sunday, August 4, 2019 at Barnesville Hospital. Mary was born in Wheeling, WV on August 15, 1944 to the late Ray and Flora (Yeager) Elston.
Mary was a member of the Assumption Church of Barnesville. She worked as a x-ray tech at Barnesville Hospital, retired from Barnesville Schools as an education aid and worked for many years at the snack shack at the Barnesville Memorial Park. Mary was a supporter of 4-H and a member of OAPSE.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orlin Lee Thornberry on November 16, 2014 and brother, Lawrence "Larry" Elston.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Rebecca "Becky" (Robert, Jr.) Selmon of Shadyside; two grandsons: Andrew and Arin Selmon both of Shadyside; and brother, Charles "Butch" Elston of Elm Grove, WV; niece, Teri Williams; nephews: Marlin Harper, Michael Thornberry and Kevin Elston; and her faithful companions, Fancy and Reba.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2019 from 4-8pm with a Vigil Service at 7:45pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, August 9, 2019 at 11am at Assumption Church in Barnesville. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.
