Mary E. Carpenter, 81, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Beckett House in New Concord, Ohio. She was born on January 3, 1931 in Flushing, Ohio to the late Howard and Ellen (Huntsman) Tracy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband - Virgil R. Carpenter on April 29, 2002; infant daughter - Barbara; 3 brothers - Herbert, Joe Ollie, and John Tracy; 3 sisters - Marie Poole, Helen Thompson, Anna May Tracy; nephew - Donald Tracy. Surviving are son - Howard Carpenter of New Matamoris, Ohio; 5 daughters - Patsy (James) Carpenter of Barnesville, Joyce (Larry) Woodward of Malta, Ohio, Sharon (Don) Johnson of Michigan, Rose Moore of Steubenville, Betty (Richard) Landers of Pollack, Texas; 12 grandchildren - Jason Carpenter, Jennifer Smithberger, Memory Hanson, Megan Cope, Damian Micol, John Moore, A.J. Palmer, Cledith Palmer, Chanelle Palmer, Tiffany Carpenter, Kacee Landers, and Jessica Landers; 19 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild. Visitation will be Monday, March 5, 2012 from 11 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.
