Martha Elizabeth (Myers) James, 87, of Cambridge, Ohio formerly of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Kettering Health Main Campus. She was born on June 1, 1936 in Barnesville to the late Hagar and Rosa (Jackson) Myers.

Martha was a graduate of Barnesville High School. She was the writer of the Barnesville High School Creed. Martha spent 42 years of her life in service working for the government, she started at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and retired from Defense Control Supply Center (DCSC) in Columbus, Ohio. She loved shopping and was always buying things for her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Martha was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew Samuel James; sisters, Shelvey Jean Myers and Viola Mae Myers; and brother-in-law, Charles Simpson.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Shelvey Jean James; grandchildren, Miland (Christopher) Suber and Darius Jenkins; great-grandchildren, Josephine Elizabeth Suber and Olivia Jean Suber; brother, James (Penny) Myers; sisters, Betty Simpson, Josephine Myers, Virginia Bell, Janice Myers, and Mari (Phillip) Harvin; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 11:00am until the time of the service at 12:00pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.
