(Cornett) Bishop
April 13, 1933 – August 25, 2013
Margaret "Peggy" Bishop, 80, of Barnesville died Sunday, August 25, 2013 at Riverside Hospital. She was born on April 13, 1933 to the late Urban and Marie (Bosold) Cornett in Gallipolis, Ohio.
Peggy was a graduate of St. Xavier Academy and then attended the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. She was a member of the Assumption Church in Barnesville where she played the organ and taught CCD. She was a member of the hospital TWIG, Mothers Club, she was a past president for the PTA, and was a girl scout troop leader for many years. Peggy taught piano lessons and was a volunteer at Barnesville Hospital. Most importantly though, she was a wonderful mother, sister and grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jacques T. Bishop; brother, John Cornett; nephew, Joey Bishop; and brothers-in-law, Eric Bishop and George Miller.
She is survived by two sons: George (Cathy) Bishop of Quaker City and David Bishop and his wife, Charla Dain of Tuscon, Arizona; two daughters, Mary (Dave) Monaghan of Colfax, Washington and Julie (Dave) Swallie of Hilliard; seven grandchildren: Maggie (Anthony) Neiswonger, Abigail Bishop, Jacqueline Monaghan, Melissa Monaghan, Jared Monaghan, Justin Swallie and Eric Swallie; three great-grandchildren: Max Swallie and Kamryn and Noah Neiswonger; two sisters: Pat (Bill) Kashouty of Hideaway, Texas and Rose Miller of Pittsford, New York; and brother: Dr. Richard (Margie) Cornett of Gallipolis, Ohio.
Visitation will be on Sunday, September 1, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 2, 2013 at 10 am at the Assumption Church in Barnesville with Msgr. Froehlich officiating. She will be interred in Gallipolis, Ohio with her husband, Jacques Bishop.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
