Margaret Joan (Duvall) Shepherd, 93, Bethesda, Ohio died on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at her home. She was born on May 6, 1929 in Woodsfield, Ohio, daughter of Anna Lee Duvall Jackson and Jack Duvall.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Allen Shepherd. At the time of his death on June 12, 2001 they had been married 52 years. Joan was also preceded in death by her son, Charles Shepherd; grandparents, Dora and Samuel Riemenschneider; and her special aunt, Inza Jackson Stephen.

Joan had been a a private secretary for Shepherd Chevrolet Co. Star Nursing Home, and the Farm Bureau Insurance Co. Joan was a member of the Bethesda Methodist Church and a member, Past Matron and Past Grand Representative to Saskatchewan of the order of the Eastern Star where she was a 50 year member but above all would want to be remembered as a homemaker, a devoted wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. She enjoyed traveling Europe and many countries with her husband.

Joan is survived by her children, Becky (Tom) Johnson of Bethesda and Sam (Tommie) Shepherd of Lake Murray, SC; daughter-in-law, Sandra Shepherd of Conover, NC; a special daughter, Angela Shepherd of Texas; seven grandchildren, Charles (George) Shepherd, Brady (Mandy) Shepherd, Adam Shepherd, Greg Shepherd, Jenny (Kevin) Richey, Angie (Bill) Tustin, and Matt Johnson; four great-grandsons, Colton, Will, Shepherd, and Zachary; and three great-granddaughters, Emma, Sloane, and Katelyn; sister-in-law, Louise Gregor; and many nieces and nephews. She loved them all!

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 26, 2022 from 11:00am until the time of the service at 1:00pm at the Bethesda United Methodist Church, 233 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio with Rev. Tom Detling officiating. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery. Joans care had been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.

The family would like to thank Amedisys Hospice and Beth Robb for their care of Joan.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joans name to the Bethesda United Methodist Church, 233 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio 43719.
