Lillian "Pearl" Benson, 84, of Barnesville passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2022 at her home. Pearl was born on November 9, 1938 in Lloydsville, Ohio to the late Charles Elmer and Lillian Irene (Hummel) Zonker. Pearl was a 1956 graduate of Old Washington High School. She was a unique person who had a genuine compassion for other people, a willingness to help anyone, was always happy to invite anyone in on the holidays or take them a plate if they were unable to come. She was fiercely loyal and her family was her life. Pearl had a great love for Elvis. In addition to her parents, Pearl was preceded in death by her husband Gaylord "Darhl" Benson on January 27, 2015; brothers Harry Zonker, Jimmy Zonker, Lewis Zonker, Tom Hummel; and sister, Mary Ann Anderson. Pearl is survived by her daughter, Lora Cunningham of Fairview; grandchildren, Curtis (Tina) Cunningham of Barnesville and Cory Cunningham of Barnesville; great grandchildren, Isabella and Chase; brother, Jack Klink; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 11:00 am until the time of the service at 1:00pm with Pastor Rodney West officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
