Leona L. (Kemp) Thompson, 90, of Barnesville died Monday 2/25/2013 at the Barnesville Health Care Center. She was born in Belmont, Ohio on December 11, 1922 to the late Dennis and Laura (Benson) Kemp.
Leona was a member of the Assumption Church and the Catholic Women's Club.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cloyd Thompson; daughter, Linda Sexton; son, Bruce Edward Anderson; brother, Lester Kemp; and 2 sisters: Mildred Anderson and Wilma Anderson.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Judy (Gary) Lucas of Barnesville, Donna (John) Duch of Barnesville and Mary (Allen) Withrow of Bethesda; son, Mike (Melinda) Anderson of Barnesville; 3 brothers: Dallas Kemp of Belmont, Chester (Irma) Kemp of Belmont and David Kemp of Belmont; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and loving companion for many years, Andy Messenger.
Visitation will be Thursday, 2/28/2013 from3-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday 3/1/2013 at 10am at the Assumption Church with Msgr. Mark Froehlich officiating. Burial will follow in Assumption Cemetery.
