Lawrence F. Smith, 89, of Bethesda, Ohio passed away on Monday, July 27, 2020, at Wheeling Hospital. He was born on April 27, 1931, in Memphis, Tennessee to the late Lawrence E. and Maryann (Pekari) Smith. Lawrence was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temperanceville. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Reynolds) Smith; a daughter, Maureen A. (Thomas) Dippel; two brothers, Bonnie and Elmo Smith; and two sisters, Genevieve Gallagher and Charlotte Smith. Lawrence is survived by his children, Patricia (Chet) Agrusa of Barnesville, Larry (Sharon) Smith, of Sharpsburg, Georgia, and Laurie Ann (Darrin) O'Connor of Fresh Meadows, New York; eight grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen A. Smith and Betty (David) Allar. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Temperanceville, Ohio. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery where military honors will be given by Belmont County Veteran's Association. Care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
