Katherine "Kate" M. Carpenter, 81, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at WVU Medicine - Barnesville Hospital. She was born on January 19, 1942 in Jacobsburg, Ohio to the late  Chester and Marguerite (Wells) Lucas.

Kate worked for several years as a clerk for Finch's Meat Market. She loved to bake, cook, and sew. Kate loved her flowers and also enjoyed drawing.

In addition to her parents, Kate was preceded in death by her husband, Charley R. Carpenter; sister, Jenny Allar; brother, Francis Lucas two daughters, Karen Sue Carpenter and Linda May; son Russell Carpenter

Kate is survived by her son, Charley R. Carpenter Jr. of Barnesville; daughter, Marguerite (James) Gamble of Woodsfield; sister, Shirley Baker of Barnesville; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Edna Lucas; and several nieces and nephews.

No services will be held. Kate's care has been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
