Katherine L. Bell, 96, of Barnesville, Ohio died Friday, April 1, 2011 at Barnesville Health Care Center. She was born October 7, 1914 in Barnesville to the late Charles G. and Edna E. Myers Lucas. She was retired from Jonathan Logan and was a member of IGLW, American Legion and VFW Auxillaries. She was preceded by her husband - Sherman; son - Charles Emmett Bell; brother - John William Lucas; and longtime friend and companion - Hollis "Slim" Hayes. Surviving are a son - Joseph L. (Kay) Bell of Beallsville, Ohio; daughter - Shirley M. (Kenneth) Ellis of Barnesville, Ohio; 10 grandchildren - Kellly Bell, Angela Frase, Shawn Bell, Travis Bell, Heidi Ross, Bryan Jones, Kendra Brown, Gina Carvin, Carla Clark, and Sherman Ellis; and 6 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 7, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio with services being held Friday, April 8, 2011 at 1 PM. Burial will follow at Southern Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.
