Judith Irene Betts, 68, of Akron, Ohio passed away peacefully after a long battle with cancer on Sunday, June 25, 2023 at Summa Health in Akron. She was born on January 19, 1955 in Quaker City, Ohio to the late Ralph and Mabel (Giesey) Wehr. Judy was a graduate of Belmont Technical College. She enjoyed crocheting. She made hundred of afgans over the years. She designated herself as the historian of the family and keeper of the family tree, tracing her roots back to 1789. Judy's favorite thing in life was simply being "Granny" to her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Judy was preceded in death by her husband, William Betts; brother, Jerry Dale Wehr; and sisters, Carol Bailey and Ellen "Janey" Young. Judy is survived by her children, Heather (Roger Heilman) Wehr of Akron and Joshua (Julie) Wehr of Akron; grandchildren, Jordan (Joshua Long) Wehr, Joseph Wehr, Benjamin Heilman, Katarina Heilman; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith" A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 1, 2023 at 11:00am at Batesville Cemetery with Pastor Rodney West officiating. Judy's care has been entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
