Josephine Nina (Jackson) Drake 80 yrs old of Barnesville, Ohio died Monday November 1, 2010 at Christus Santa Rosa Westover Hills Hospital in San Antonio, TX. She was born December 17, 1929 in Somerton, OH. She is preceded in death by husband Rolland L Drake Sr., parents Clarence and Nina (Briggs) Jackson, grandparents Elmer (Lucy) Briggs, Uncle Singleton Jack Briggs, brothers Clarence "Buddy" Jackson, Charles Elmer Jackson , and Dale Jackson, sister Iona RebaLee Jones, children Pamela Drake, Betty Drake, Brenda Sue Drake, and Bonnie Lucas. Survived by sisters Lucy Jordan, Carol Kay Sterns, and brother Alvia Jackson, daughters Barbara King, and Marcia (David) Mebane, sons Rolland L Drake Jr., Brian Drake, Rick (Becky) Drake, and Timothy Drake. She had numerous grand and great grand children. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and extended family. She belonged to Bethel AME church where she served as steward. She was the President of the Myers and Hamilton family reunion. She loved working for both. She was the graduate of the class of 1948. She loved sports especially the Pittsburg Steelers. She was a member of the Golden Buckeye Club. She had been presented as mother of the year in Ohio by Governor Rhodes. She loved all her friends and family dearly. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, November 8, 2010 at Campbell Plumly Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St, Barnesville, OH 43713. Burial will follow in Southern Cemetery. Family and friends will be received from 4-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
