Joseph Edward Christie, 56, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 4, 2024 at Barnesville Hospital. He was born on July 28, 1967 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Charles and Edna (Keener) Christie. Joe was a 1985 graduate of Barnesville High School. Following high school he went to the police academy and was a Barnesville Police Officer for 13 years. Currently he was employed at the Belmont Correctional Institution as a Corrections Officer. Joe enjoyed riding his Harley. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather (JoeJoe). His true love in life was spending time with his family and taking his grandson fishing. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Edna Clark. Joe is survived by his wife of 28 years, Lorri Christie; son, Steven (Kelsey) Christie; Stephanie Christie; grandson, Easton; brothers, Dave Christie, Bob Christie, and Mike Christie; sister, Kathy Kunko; father-in-law, Charles Clark; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 from 10:00am until the time of the service at 1:00pm with Reverend Tom Detling officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda.
