John Calvin Murphy, 79, formerly of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on February 24, 1941 to the late Bainard and Gladys (Baker) Murphy.

John was a 1959 graduate of Barnesville High School. He is a retired service manager for Doan Ford. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his wife Marilyn D. (Taylor) Murphy; daughter Johnna Daire Murphy; in-laws, Vernon "Woody" and Hilda Taylor; and brothers-in-law, James Hibbs and Jim Pryor.

John is survived by his daughter Amy (Dwayne) Romine; grandson Evan; sisters, Helen Hibbs, Waneta (Pat) Woodard, Donna Jean Pryor; and brother-in-law, Robert (Connie) Taylor.

In following Covid-19 restrictions, masks and social distancing will be required for visitation on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 11-1pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home 319 N. Chestnut St. Barnesville, Ohio 43713. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio.
