John H. Merecka, 74, of Barnesville died Thursday November 15, 2012 at his home.  He was born September 9, 1938 in Needville, TX to the late Charles and Louise (Kostelnic) Merecka.

He was a member of the Philadelphia Church of God out of Canton, Ohio.  He worked as a mechanical engineer in the oil fields.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, Charles Merecka.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Betty (Doudna) Merecka; 5 children: Monty John (Trish) Merecka of Iago, TX, Vicky Beth (Dennis) Roth of Boling, TX, Lory Merecka of Austin, TX, Charles Alfred (Bridget) Merecka of Boling, TX and Justin Joe (Janie) Merecka of Boling, TX; 8 grandchildren; 2 brothers: Martin Merecka of Texas and Franklin Merecka of Texas; and 1 sister: Evelyn Goodman of Texas.

Visitation will be on Monday 11/19/2012 from 6-8PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.  The service will be held on Tuesday 11/20/2012 at 11am with Aaron Eagle offifiating.  Burial will follow in the family cemetery on the Doudna Farm.
