John "Jack" W. Gordon, 77, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Belmont Community Hospital. He was born on December 19, 1938 in Morristown, Ohio to the late John Charles and Una (Wesley) Gordon.

Jack was a 1956 graduate of Belmont High School, member of the Morristown United Methodist Church, and a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War. He loved bowling in the Barnesville League, St. Clairsville League, and Senior Mixed League. Jack was a Heavy Equipment Operator for R&F Coal Company, Consol Energy, and retired from the Operating Engineers Union.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Bertha Pickering.

Jack is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bonnie (Russell) Gordon who he married on June 21, 1969; daughter, Bonnie Sue Peterman of Warwood, WV; son, John (Teresa) Gordon, II of Barnesville; grandchildren, Paige and Brooke Peterman, and Myka, Seth, and Ashlyn Gordon; 3 siblings, Paul Gordon of St. Petersburg, Florida, Norma Russell of Lacygne, Kansas, and Daniel (Denise) Gordon of Columbus; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 16, 2016 from 5-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 11 AM with Rev. Gene Miller officiating. Burial will follow at Hope Cemetery in Hendrysburg, Ohio where military honors will be conducted by Belmont County Veteran's Association.
