James A. Burcher, 105, of Barnesville, passed away Sunday, December 7, 2014 at the Barnesville Health Care Center.  He was born on November 10, 1909 in Wheeling, West Virginia to the late Garfield and Bessie (Casebeer) Burcher.

James is a member of the Somerton Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Martha (Mahoney) Burcher; four brothers; two sisters; son-in-law, Ronald Bischof; great-grandson, Isaac Swallie; and a great-great-granddaughter, Anabelle Fornal.

He is survived by two daughters: Nancy Bischof of Barnesville and Kathy Burkhart of Woodsfield; grandchildren: Steven Mobley, Debbie (Doug) Parker, Angela Laxton and Melanie (Mark) VanHorn; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 from 12 until the time of the service at 2pm with Pastor Charles Clark officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.  Burial will follow in Somerton Cemetery.
