Irene Mae VanFossen, 73, of Barnesville, Ohio died Tuesday morning, April 19, 2011 at Barnesville Health Care Center. She was born on February 11, 1938 in Barnesville to the late Robert and Emelyn (Morton) Pierce. She was a retired caregiver at Voca Rehabilitation and was a past president of the Eagles Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Irene was preceded in death by 2 husbands - Marvin Hanlon and Donnie VanFossen (2/12/2009); daughter - Peggy McMillen; and brother - Robert Pierce. She is survived by a daughter - Barb (Chris) Ditto of Barnesville; 2 brothers - Jack (Lova) Pierce, Sr. of Barnesville and Forrest (Janet) Pierce of Frazeysburg, Ohio; 2 sisters - Violet (Robert) McGee of Frazeysburg, Ohio and Helen Castello of Springfield, Ohio; 3 grandchildren - Shane (Chenea) Carpenter of Canal Winchester, Brandy (Rich) DeGenova of Barnesville, and Kayla Carpenter of Barnesville; 2 stepsons - Tim (Patricia) VanFossen of Barnesville and Mike (Tammy Tustin) VanFossen of Barnesville; stepdaughter - Redona (Rick) Truax of Barnesville; 3 great-grandchildren; 3 step gandchildren - Shawn Truax, Casey VanFossen and Carly Van Fossen and special friend - Candy Johnson. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 21, 2011 from 6-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713 where services will be held Friday, April 22, 2011 at 1 PM with Rev. Charles Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.
