Howard Denver Lee, Jr., 83, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehab surrounded by his family. Howard was born on December 10, 1937, in Sistersville, West Virginia to the late Howard D. "Jake" and Edna (Steed) Lee, Sr.
Howard was a Baptist by faith. He was a welder for Watt Car & Wheel for 30 years and after they closed he worked for the Village of Barnesville. He was an active member of the Watt Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Joan Deulley and Ruby Townson.
Howard is survived by his wife, Florence (Hoff) Lee; two children, Brenda (Bruce) Carpenter of Barnesville and Melissa (David) McMillen of Barnesville; four grandchildren, Bruce "J.R." (Brooke) Carpenter, Jr., Nathan Carpenter, Sarah McMillen, and Eric McMillen; great-grandchildren, Jenna Carpenter, Julia Carpenter, and Jackson Wright; great-great granddaughter, Lynden Wright; siblings, Mary Francis Russell, Betty Jean Hayhurst, and Nancy Chevalier; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Howard will be held on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at 2:00pm at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville with Pastor Tom Detling officiating. Howard's care is entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Howard's name to the Watt Center.
