Helen M. Carpenter, 63, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at Barnesville Hospital. She was born on February 4, 1959, at Barnesville Hospital to the late Clarence "Dutch" and Dorothy (Gallaher) Howell of Jerusalem. On June 18, 1977, she married the love of her life, Rocky J. Carpenter at the St. John the Baptist Church, Miltonsburg, Ohio. She was a member of the Church of Christ, attending services at the East Main Church of Christ, Barnesville, Ohio. Helen was the dedicated Manager of the Woodsfield Savings Bank Barnesville Branch. She would brag about her employees at every opportunity. She served as Director and was a Past President of the Monroe County Chamber of Commerce. She served as Past President of the Woodsfield Kiwanis Club and was a member until transferring her membership to the Barnesville Kiwanis Club, where she also served as Past President. She was a Director and Member of the Barnesville Chamber of Commerce, Barnesville Rotary, Barnesville Elks, and served on several Community Committees. In her teenage years she played with her father in the square dance band The Dutch Howell Country Swingers. Helen enjoyed anything involving horses, quilting, crocheting, cake decorating, cooking, and serving the community. She never met a stranger and was an avid "hugger". First and foremost, she loved her Faith and her Family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruth Ellen Howell and Mary Ann Yontz. She is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Rocky. Two loving sons, Clarence (Jennifer Cole) Carpenter and Jeffrey Carpenter, both of Barnesville. Two grandchildren which she adored, Mason and Addison Carpenter of Barnesville. Two sisters, Jeanie (Richard) Hughes of Ozark and Connie (Larry) Richter of Sardis. A brother-in-law, John Yontz of Ozark. Many Carpenter Family in-laws in the surrounding Barnesville area. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Friends and family are invited to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio for visitation on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM where services will be held on Thursday, November 17, 2022 at 11 AM. Burial will follow at Bush Church of Christ Cemetery in Jerusalem, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the East Main Church of Christ.
