Gladys Ruth Danford, 104, of Barnesville went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, April 25, 2015 at Barnesville Health Care Center. She was born in Belmont County, Ohio on March 11, 1911 to the late Jim and Sadie (Edwards) Trott.
Gladys was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church, United Methodist Women and the Working Hearts Sunday School Class. She worked as a seamstress for many years. She started at Hansy's Mills and retired from Jonathan Logan. Gladys was also a member of the Garment Worker's Union.
She was saved at an old fashioned revival service at the age of 18, and baptized in Captine Creek. She was a true Proverbs 31 woman to her Lord and family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Kay Hendershot; and six sisters: Pearl Lallathin, Florence Hossman, Helen Starr, Edith Basford, Doris Warrick and Mary McEndree.
Gladys is survived by her loving husband of 78 years, Virgil Danford; son, Larry (Sandra) Danford of New Matamoras, Ohio; 7 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and son-in-law, Robert Hendershot.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 from 10:00am until the time of the service at noon with Pastor Richard Cox officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
