Geneva B. Steele, 91, of Somerton, Ohio died Monday, September 3, 2012 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab in Barnesville, Ohio.  She was born August 22, 1921 in Belmont County to the late Otto and Nellie Wells.

Geneva was a 1939 graduate of Barnesville High School and was a member of Somerton Church of Christ. She worked for 50 years on Main Street in Barnesville and was former owner of Gilberts.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by brothers - Robert Wells and Edward Wells.

Surviving are her loving husband of 69 years - Richard "Dick" Steele; son - Tim (Joyce) Steele of Somerton; daughter - Susie (Tim) Powell of Barnesville; grandchildren - Matt (Penny) Powell of Belmont, Michelle Ditto of Norfolk, Virginia, Jeremy (Heather) Powell of Barnesville, Seth (Natalie) Steele of Pleasant City, Ohio, Corey (Nikki) Powell of Barnesville, Aaron (Cassie) Steele of Barnesville, and Jessica (C.J.) Burghy of Barnesville, 13 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and 2 sister-in-laws - June Wells of Akron and Sarah Louise Wells of Columbus.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 4-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be Friday, September 7, 2012 at 11 AM with Ev. Kim McFarland and Ev. Val Roxby officiating. Burial will follow at Somerton Cemetery in Somerton, Ohio.
