Geneva Carol Carpenter, 86, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, April 7, 2022, at Barnesville Hospital. She was born on February 4, 1936, in Kodol, West Virginia to the late Russel Phillips and Esta (Bane) Phillips. Carol loved gardening and her flowers. Soap operas and The Golden Girls were her favorite. She was a wonderful cook, loved making homemade pies and baking. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Wayne Carpenter on June 11, 2016; and sisters, Ruth Hunstman, Louise Garrison, and Marjorie Lippert. Carol is survived by her daughters, Jody (Greg) Hunter, Jill (Chris) Carpenter, and Sherri (Keith McMillan) Carpenter all of Barnesville; five grandchildren, Leslie (Matt) Daugherty, Hillary (Jason) Abrigg, Chad (Amanda) Hunter, Kyle Gibson, and Fallyn Carpenter; seven great-grandchildren: Madyson, Braydon, Shayla, Josey, Lakyn, Jaydon and Landyn; several nieces and nephews; and her cat, Sebastian. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2022 from 12-4 pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be held Monday, April 11, 2022 at 11:00 am with Pastor Joe Thornton officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library or St. Jude.
