Fred W. "Butch" Strauss, 71, of Morristown, Ohio passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025, at The Enclave at Barnesville (Astoria Place). He was born on October 3, 1953, in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Fredie and Ruth (Gunn) Strauss.

Fred was a 1972 graduate of Union Local High School. He then spent four years stationed at Camp Lejune while serving the United State Marines. He later worked at the #4 coal mine in Powhatan and then Box USA factory until he was no longer able to work due to his health.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Trey Strauss and his brothers, Jeffrey Strauss and John Strauss.

Fred is survived by his children, James (Jill) Strauss and Jeff Strauss; grandchildren, Colten (Paige), Drew, Noah (Adreanna), Aylah, and Abby Strauss.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 15, 2025 from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm with Minister Jacob Saarloos officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Union Cemetery in Morristown, Ohio where military honors will be presented by Belmont County Veterans Association.
