Ethel M. Carpenter, 95, of Barnesville passed away on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Astoria Place of Barnesville.  Ethel was born on March 24, 1922 in Noble County, Ohio to the late Barney and Grace (Spence) Leach.

Ethel was a member of the East Main Street Church of Christ.  She was a retired seamstress for Jonathon Logan.

In addition to her parents, Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis M. Carpenter on December 3, 1998; two daughters: Mary Sullivan and Linda Curlutu;  two brothers: Danford Leach and Jack Leach; two sisters, Cledith Carpenter and Helen Wehr; and three grandchildren: Kandy, Mandy and Gretchen.

Ethel is survived by her children:  David Carpenter of Barnesville, Sandra (Larry) Wells of Canton, and Shirley Dyer of Canton; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at 1pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.  Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.
