Ernest "Ernie" W. Carpenter, 76, of Temperanceville, Ohio passed away Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center. He was born on October 1, 1945 in Barnesville to the late Clesson and Winnie (Nicholes) Carpenter. Ernie worked for Monte Phillips installing carpet for 26 years and was a truck driver for Ohio Valley Paving. He loved deer hunting, sitting on the front porch and mowing grass. In addition to his parents Ernie was preceded in death by his siblings, Leonard Carpenter, Marvin George Carpenter, Margaret Wells, infant sister Linda Carpenter and infant brother Raymond Carpenter. Ernie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cindy Carpenter; son, Jesse Carpenter; siblings, Leroy (Sarah) Carpenter, Helen Anderson, Rocky (Helen) Carpenter, Doris Haney, Harvey Carpenter, Bonnie Stephens, and Vivian (Jim) Thornburg; several nieces, nephews and friends; and his faithful companion, his cat Buttons. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 1-4pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home 319 N. Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Services will be Monday, November 1, 2021 at 11:00am with Pastor Rodney West officiating. Burial will follow at Batesville Cemetery.
