Donald Richard Long, 82, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Friday, January 29, 2016 at his home. He was born on April 22, 1933 in Barnesville to the late Glen H. and Marie (Debula) Long.

Donnie was a 1951 graduate of Barnesville High School and a retired coal miner from Y&O Coal Company. He was a member of UMWA Local Union 1810, Archaeological Society of Ohio and Amvets. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Darlene C. Long on January 5, 1994; brother, Charles R. Long; and an infant brother.

Donnie is survived by his son, Raymond Long of Barnesville; daughter, Monica (Vincent) Howell of Jacksonville, Florida; 3 grandchildren, Mitchell, Brooke, and Brady Howell; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 1, 2016 from 11 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM with Rev. Tom Detling officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Assumption Catholic Cemetery in Barnesville where military honors will be conducted by Belmont County Veteran's Association.
