Donald W. "ChiChi"  Kurtz, 75, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 at his home. He was born November 26, 1936, in Bailey's Mills, Ohio son of Theodore and Shirley Morris Kurtz.  He was retired after 42 years of service at the Ormet Corporation.  He was the Best, Coolest, Greatest father anyone could ever ask for.  Donald was a 7 time club champion at Switzerland of Ohio Country Club including 4 in a row.  At the age of 74, during one of his last golf outings at Horseshoe Bend Golf Course, he shot a 64 including a 29 on the back 9 holes.  A 1955 graduate of Beallsville High School, he was a stand out basketball and baseball player.

He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Sharon L. Phillips Kurtz; 2 sons - Patrick Kurtz of Barnesville and Michael (Michelle) Kurtz of Jerusalem; 2 daughters - Beth Ann (Daren) Wallace of Woodsfield and Jill Kurtz of Woodsfield; 3 brothers - Jim (Sue) Kurtz of Florida, Bill (Linda) Kurtz of Somerton and John (Linda) Kurtz of Somerton; 4 sisters - Minnie (Charles) Saffell of Beallsville, Helen (Barry) Nelms of Duffy, Linda (Jerry) Wicks of Hannibal and Phyllis (Dean) Dingus of Barnesville; 5 grandchildren - Ryan Wallace, Sarah Moore, Kelly Eakin, Kyle Eakin and Tanner Kurtz; and 2 greatgrandchildren - Wesley Moore and Kaleigha Carrier.

At his request there will be no visitation or service.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Med Home Hospice.

Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio is in charge of arrangements.
