Donald Lee "Don" Bates, 63, of 501 Morgantown Extension, Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021, at his residence. He was born in Martins Ferry, Ohio on February 3, 1957, a son of the late Gail Vincent "Bud" and Betty Ruth (Harmon) Bates. Don was a Presbyterian by faith and was employed by Valling Mining in Dennison, Ohio. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Penny Lee (Gilmore) Bates and brothers, William Bates and Robert Bates. He is survived by a brother, Michael Bates (Linda) of Rio Rancho, New Mexico. In accordance with family wishes, no services will be held. Arrangemenst are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, Barnesville, Ohio.
