David Louis Grimes, 88, of Barnesville, died Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Astoria Place of Barnesville.  David was born on November 25, 1927 in Sewellsville, Ohio to the late Clyde and Frances (Trimmer) Grimes.

David is a WWII Veteran of the United States Army. He is a 1945 graduate of Barnesville High School, member of the Main Street United Methodist Church and the VFW Post 168, and retired from R&F Coal Co. as a mechanic.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, David William Grimes; and brother, Robert Grimes.

David is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Ann Grimes; daughter, Ann (Scott) Lane of Hilliard; son, Kevin (Sue) Grimes of Barnesville; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11 AM with Rev. Gene Miller officiating at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio where military honors will be conducted by Belmont County Veteran's Association. Arrangements are entrusted to Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
