David W. Burns, 84, of Barnesville passed away on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at Barnesville Hospital. David was born in Bethesda, Ohio on April 20, 1933 to the late Harry and Dorothy (Peddicord) Burns.
David was a 1951 graduate of Bethesda High School and was retired as an installer from Ohio Bell. He was a Methodist by faith. David was a farmer, raised beef cattle and an avid antique junk collector. He will be sadly missed by his family and many dear friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his former wife, Phyllis (Greenwood) Burns Secrest.
David is survived by his children: Jeff (Cynthia) Burns of Barnesville, Jill Carpenter of Barnesville, Jamie (James) Callihan of Cambridge, Jodi (Dennis) Wells of Barnesville and Jana (Butch) Mankin of Bethesda; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and special furry friend, Ella.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 4-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. The service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11am with his son, Jeff, officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery in Bethesda, Ohio.
