Curtis L. Swallie, 60, of Barnesville died Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was born on January 9, 1955 to the late Theodore C. and Elsie (Albaugh) Swallie in Barnesville, Ohio.
Curtis was a 1973 graduate of Barnesville High School and was an United States Army Veteran where he proudly served from 1976-1979. Part of his time in the Army was spent serving overseas in Germany. He worked as a carpenter and was a member of the Carpenters Union, American Legion Post 168 and VFW 2792.
In addition to his parents, Curtis was preceded in death by a brother, Roger Allen Swallie.
Curtis is survived by his six siblings: Cheryl (Robert) Hoff of Sebring, Ohio, David Swallie of Barnesville, Carolyn (Terry) Stephen of Temperanceville, Brian (Melissa) Swallie of Temperanceville, Kari (Rick) Carpenter of Quaker City and Cindy Swallie of Barnesville; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 from 5-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio. The service will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 11am with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Pisgah Cemetery. Belmont County VFW Honor Guard will conduct military services on Thursday at 10:45am.
