Christopher S. Carpenter, 40, of Barnesville died Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Barnesville Hospital.  He was born in Barnesville on October 25, 1972 to Laneeda (Mankin) Todd and Charles Donald Carpenter.

He was employed by Gary Helms Construction as a carpenter.

Christopher is preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Elsworth Carpenter; and maternal grandparents, Fred and Virginia Mankin.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Scott Carpenter; daughter, Chantel Varner; stepson, Travis Varner all of Wheeling;  brother, Donnie Carpenter of Quaker City; sister, Mandy Carpenter of Bridgeport; companion, Shavon Settles of Barnesville;  grandmother, Hazel Saffell of Barnesville; 3 step-grandchildren; niece, Rosie Irwin; nephews: Devin Crumbaker and Dylan Staskey; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 12pm until the time of service at 1pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.
