Charles William McLaughlin, 83, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at Astoria Place of Barnesville with Peggy by his side holding his hand. He was born on April 12, 1940 at Barnesville Hospital to the late Herman and Mary "Gertrude" (Brown) McLaughlin.

Charles was a 1958 graduate of Barnesville High School. Peggy and Charles ran off and got married on November 6, 1961 and have been married for nearly 62 years. He was a heavy equipment mechanic for R&F Coal for several years, a member of Assumption Church, and the Moose. He enjoyed deer hunting, piddling in the garage, and gardening. Charles's biggest love was his family and his girls. He was the best Dad and Pap ever.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Emily Campbell.

Charles is survived by his wife of 61 years Peggy McLaughlin; daughter, Pam (Joel) Campbell; son, Doug (Michelle) McLaughlin; grandchildren, Jessica (Brandon) Loudin, Chloe Campbell, Regan Campbell, Erica (Charlie) Fritter, Brawn (Alexis) McLaughlin, and Madison McLaughlin; and great-grandchildren, Peyton, Paizlie, Paxtyn, Zoey, Aleia, Bridgett, Oliver, and Omelia.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 3-7pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00am on Monday, October 30, 2023 at Assumption Church, 306 West Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio with Father Dave Cornett officiating. Burial will follow at Assumption Cemetery.
