Challen Waymon Stewart, Sr., 78, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Satruday, February 2, 2013 at his home. He was born on July 31, 1934 in Waynesburg, Pennsylvania to the late William and Rosa (Miller) Stewart.
Challen was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a retired mechanic for North American Coal Company. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and United Mine Workers of America.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife - Katherine (Corrick) Stewart (1999); 6 brothers - William, Dan, Lawrence, Dick, Gene, and Tommy; and sister - Evelyn (Stewart) Carpenter.
He is survived by children - Challen Waymon Stewart, Jr. of Barnesville and Glenna (Stewart) Roe of St. Clairsville; sister - Loretta Shaffer of Florida; 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
Visitation will be Monday, February 4, 2013 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Fuenral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio where services will be Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 11 AM with Rev. Ed Eberhart. Burial will follow at Powhatan Cemetery in Powhatan Point, Ohio.
