Carolyn "June" Stephens, 84, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016 at Emerald Pointe Nursing & Rehab. She was born on June 17, 1931 in Barnesville, Ohio to the late Neil Thomas and Elizabeth Mae (Davis) VanScyoc.

June was a 1949 graduate of Barnesville High School. She was operator of Stephens Grocery in Sewellsville and owned an upholstery business. She was a devoted member of Sewellsville Methodist Church and enjoyed working alongside her husband on the farm.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Earl Stephens on January 30, 2012.

June is survived by her daughter, Linda Sue (Steven) Smith of Magnolia, Ohio; grandchildren, Kimberly Smith of Barlow, Ohio and Adam Smith of Barnesville; siblings, Betty Winters of Port Richey, Florida, Pauline (Richard) Shepherd of Sewellsville, Lucille (Robert) Timms of Meridian, Mississippi, and Dorothy (Marvin) Stephens of Piedmont; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 5-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Visitation will be held again on Monday, March 21, 2016 at Sewellsville Methodist Church from 10 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM with her son-in-law, Rev. Steven M. Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Sewellsville Cemetery in Sewellsville, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in June's memory to Sewellsville Methodist Church or to Hospice of Guernsey.
