Carol Lee Preston, 87, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Friday, August 21, 2026 at WVU Wheeling Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born on November 2, 1938 in Jackson, Ohio to the late Leroy and Ruth B. (Armstrong) Chandler.

Carol was an active member in the First United Methodist Church and Barnesville Rotary, where she was a recipient of the Paul Harris Fellow for her nurturing and caring nature for others throughout her life. She was formerly a dedicated member of the PTO, Junior Women's Club. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife. She adored her family, especially her grandchildren, they loved her sense of humor and will carry it on for years to come. She and Ron enjoyed traveling and camping with close friends and family, they looked forward to their family vacations.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Herman Ronald Preston, on July 19, 2026; and her sister, Mabel (Jack) Pillion.

Carol is survived by her son, Bret Preston (Leanna); and daughters Cathy Butler (Tom); and Ronna Allen (Rick); grandchildren Brandi Little (Justin) Bryce Allen (Ashli), Blake Allen (Carissa), Nathan Butler (Mindy), Alyson Popiolkowski (Matt), Emily Preston (Brieg) and Anne Harney (Isaiah); great grandchildren, Kennedy Little, Madyson (Brady) Wildes, Campbell Allen, Carter Allen, Chandler Allen, Alexis Thomas; Porter Popiolkowski, Quinn Popiolkowski, Audrey Butler, Margot Butler and Benjamin Harney; great-great grandchild, Murphy Wildes; brother, Jim (Kay) Chandler; and nieces, Amy Mosser, Vicky Tardy, Cindy Blackwell, and Jane Chambers.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 27, 2026 from 11:00am until the time of the service at 12:00pm with Pastor Van Fisher officiating at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery.
