Carol Ann Groves, 91, of Barnesville, Ohio passed away on Monday, September 7, 2026 at Trinity Medical Center West. She was born on July 7, 1935, in Logan, West Virginia to the late Leonard Wyatt and Beulah (Wehr) Blowers.
Carol was a 1953 graduate of Barnesville High School. She worked as a telephone operator for Ohio Bell. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville. Carol looked forward to the Barnesville Pumpkin Festival where she always had a stand and sold her ceramics, she made the pumpkins for on top of the trophies for several years. She was always up for an adventure, she enjoyed life, getting dressed up, and loved going to her grandkids and great-grandkids events.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Dale Groves on December 4, 1989; a daughter, Kathy Jo Johnson on March 12, 2018; and step-father, Bing Blowers; and her twin sister, Donna Wyatt.
Carol is survived by her children, Connie Flood of Barnesville and Bill (Donna) Groves of New Philadelphia; son-in-law, Bobby Johnson of Barnesville; grandchildren, Melissa Dodd of Barnesville, Jill (Tony) Gerschutz of Hilliard, Natalie (Jarrod) Anderson of Barnesville; Casey (Jen Senn) Flood of Hilliard, Brooke (Kent) Adams of Beallsville, Ohio, Gretchen Flood of London, Ohio, Sean (Kate) Groves of Dublin, and Sara (Stephen Houston) Groves of Columbus; great-grandchildren, Logan Dodd, Lauren Gerschutz, Nicholas Gerschutz, Sadie Jo Anderson, Dylan Saffell, Hemi Adams, Tucker Latham and Makayla Latham, Vivienne Groves, Claire Groves, and Amelia Houston; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11, 2026 from 4-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 12:00pm with Pastor Van Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at Crestview Cemetery in Barnesville, Ohio.
Memorial Contributions can be made to the First United Methodist Church of Barnesville or the American Heart Association.
