Betty J. Gallagher, 86, of Barnesville passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014 at her home. She was born in Belmont County on April 3, 1928 to the late Clarence J. and Inez (Dunfee) Doudna.
Betty was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church, a life member of the Ladies Auxillary of VFW Post 2792 and worked as a seamstress for Jonathan Logan. She enjoyed farming, playing cards, music and square dancing. Betty loved living on her farm and enjoyed spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband - Raphael Lee Gallagher; brother - Frankin D. Doudna; and a grandson - Richard Darren Slevin.
She is survived by two daughters - Betty Rae (Richard W.) Slevin of Quaker City and JoAnn (Ted) Holland of Barnesville; granddaughter - Billie Jo (Ron) Bishop of Barnesville - great-granddaughter, Megan Bishop of Barnesville; nephew - Dr. Rev. Frankin J. (Neysa) Doudna of Albany, Ohio; three great-nephews - Andrew, Brady and Casey Doudna; cousin - Darryl Doudna of Yorkville, Ohio; and companion - Clarence Calvin Baker, Jr. of Barnesville.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 from 4-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville where services will be held on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11 AM with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh. Burial will follow at Friend Cemetery in Quaker City, Ohio.
