Alice "Luella" Kidd, age 89 passed away on Thursday, August 8, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born August 13, 1934, in Goshen Township, Belmont County, Ohio to the late Carl and Dorothy (Keiser) McConaughy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Arthur Kidd on July 6, 1991. They were married on June 13, 1953; brothers, Walter and Ralph McConaughy. brother-in-laws, Hubert Chappell and Charles Warrick, sister-in-laws, Doris and Phyllis McConaughy. Luella is survived by her children, Kay (Paul) Mitchell, Carol Dennison, and Robert (Mary) Kidd; grandchildren, James (Jennifer) Mitchell, Jay Mitchell (Lindsay Fincher), Josh Dennison, John (Cassie) Kidd, Alice (Nate) Boulet, and Stephen Kidd; great-grandchildren, Mason and Brody Dennison, Ruth, Addison, and Deyanara Kidd, Bo and Brooklyn Detling, Cade, Evan, and Nick Boulet, and Ethan Kidd; sisters, Shirley Chappell and Priscilla Warrick, and several nieces and nephews. Luella was a 1953 graduate of Barnesville High School. She loved quilting, crocheting, watching birds, especially hummingbirds, working in the garden and flower beds, and baking homemade bread with all her grandkids. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio and again on Tuesday, August 13, 2024 from 12 PM until the time of the service at 1PM with Pastor Dave Kidd officiating. Burial will follow at Somerton Cemetery in Somerton, Ohio.
