Alberta V. "Midge" Carpenter, 88, of Barnesville died Friday, September 13, 2013 at the Barnesville Health Care Center.  She was born in Shadyside, Ohio on November 28, 1924 to the late James B. and Myrtle (Dennis) Brown.

Midge was a presser for the Jonathon Logan Company.  In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing, gardening and quilting.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Carpenter; 2 daughters: Sarah Louise Nolan and Sue Ellen Carpenter; son, Robert Larry Carpenter; 9 brothers and 8 sisters.

She is survived by her son, James E. Carpenter of Quaker City; 9 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Septemer 15, 2013 from 5-8pm at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 N. Chestnut St., Barnesville, Ohio.  The service will be held on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 11am with Pastor Rodney West officiating.  Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.
