Ada Marie Atkinson, 96, of Batesville, Ohio died Monday, August 29, 2011 at Southeastern Medical Hospital in Cambridge, Ohio. She was born on February 10, 1915 near Boston, Ohio to the late Edward B. and Clara (Reischman) Miller. Mrs. Atkinson was former operator and co-owner of the Modernette Beauty Shop in Barnesville. She worked as a seamstress at both Barnesville Manufacturing and Jonathan Logan Sewing Factory. She was a former member of the Beaver Hills Garden Club. She was a catholic by faith and a member of the Barnesville Assumption Church and the Catholic Women's Club. She was an active member of the Noble County Senior Center. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband - Richard Atkinson (May 2, 1987); brothers - Charles Miller, Otto Miller, Clemence Miller, John Miller, and James Miller; and sisters - Mary Miller, Stella Miller Biedenbach, Hilda Miller Chappell Robb, Lucille Miller Reischman, Marcella Miller, Dorothy Miller, Frances Miller Weilbacher. She is survived by 2 sons - Larry Atkinson of Lake Frederick, Virginia and James Atkinson of Barnesville; sister - Viola Miller Lynn of Columbus, Ohio; five grandchildren - William Atkinson of Voorhees, New Jersey, Anna (Hector) Escobedo of Sydney, Australia, Joel (Candi) Atkinson of Summerfield, Ohio, Adrienne Atkinson Maleski of Barnesville, and Andrea (Shannon) Hayes of Barnesville; and four great-grandchildren - Gracie and Brady Hayes, Jacob Maleski all of Barnesville and Cole Atkinson of Summerfield, Ohio. Visitation will be Thursday, September 1, 2011 from 5-9 PM at Campbell-Plumly-Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Vigil Services will be 5 PM Thursday. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, September 2, 2011 at 10 AM at the Barnesville Assumption Church, 306 West Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio with Msgr. Mark Froehlich officiating. Burial will follow at Batesville Cemetery in Batesville, Ohio.
